Words of wisdom from an old friend of mine on his 60th. birthday….“If I had known I was going to live this long, I’d of picked better friends!” …. and no, I wasn’t insulted. I understood.
In my day, as many here can attest, it was, “Live hard, Die young and have a great looking corpse”. I lived hard, did not die, yet and this carcass it some messed up. BUT on a positive note I can vote Saturday to get rid of our local council who have spent us into bankruptcy.
Hubby and I will be married 45 years come the end of November. We’ve yet to have a real argument – although we have had a few discussions – and are often astounded when we look over our shoulders to see how long it’s been. Sometimes it seems as if it’s been only a few weeks and other times it’s hard to remember when we weren’t together.
I always said I would never make it to 40 but my job and responsibilities as well as higher sources has kept me in the game well beyond my own calculations.
My mom was just short of 101, lived at home, by herself almost to the end. HS GF been married almost 50 years (not to me) Some things last, cherish ’em
When I was less than 3 months old the doctor told my mom to take me home and make me comfortable be cause I wouldn’t live the year out. Well Her I am and on the 16th of this month I will be 77. Thank the Lord!!

I didn’t expect to be here this long. Neither did my doctor.

Try for another ten years while you’re feeling up to the challenge! You may gain another fifteen years. Congrats!

I know my husband’s mother hoped we wouldn’t last this long. We’ve been married 47 years – double the amount of time she and his dad were married.

Say Jimmy—-about how long have A & J been married? Maybe it’s time for an anniversary party?

It really hasn’t been all that long. It just seems that way. #MonogomyIsMonotonous

I remember as a teenage, seeing people as old as I am now, I hoped I didn’t last that long. Sure glad I didn’t sign a contract.
