Pig’s got the dumb part, now waiting for the luck part. That’s why Rat says he’s halfway there.

“Dumb Luck” is annother way of writing “being white and male with inheritance”

The interesting thing about when Stephan does strips like this is that they are THE EXACT OPPOSITE of his own life!

The mantra of people who hate the hard work part. The hard work makes “luck”.

Left out planning. I have no luck and hard work is stupid. Planning out things helps. Such as, my factory was run by the 3 stooges. I went to night school to learn programming. The factory closed, I got a job in programming, not luck, planning. Hiding you head in the sand and depending on either hard work or luck is failure.

Gotta agree with Rat on this one.

Someone pointed out to me recently that you have to work so that when dumb luck strikes you’re prepared for it.

That explains why I’m doing so well. I work hard at playing every day and good fortune smiles on me with the “Luck of the Irish”. But things often don’t go my way just to keep me from getting a swelled head.

The chart doesn’t show EITHER/OR, it shows AND. Billions of us work as little as we can get away with, hoping luck will strike us like a bolt of lightning. More billions work to exhaustion every day just to survive to the morrow. Neither luck nor hard work is sufficient on its own.
