It’s having ‘nice’ things that makes one happy, Rat. At least that’s what Diotima said in Plato’s Symposium. But Pig is the Tarot. The Tarot is about experiences. Each card is an experience, situation, or feeling that shapes our minds. For better or worse.

Happiness is the afterparty.

We’ve known that things don’t lead to happiness for thousands and thousands of years, but somehow, we keep thinking that they will.

Aren’t millennials supposed to be about buying bigger and better experiences?

I would like the experience of driving across the country in a new Shelby GT.

I’m in “getting rid of” mode. Unless I use it, wear it or eat it I’m getting rid of it. No more dust gathering trinkets, stacks of DVDs, old clothes I’ll never wear, old stuff I’ll never use. If I can sell it on eBay for enough money to make it worth the effort then I will. Otherwise I’m giving it all to charity. The lone exception being those items gifted to me by my children.

Its quite liberating, breaking the bonds of being owned by my stuff.

Maybe Pig isn’t as stupid as he appears…?

What’s with all the life lessons. There was one yesterday and one today.

It is all about the experiences! Then no matter how much or how little I’ve had, I have happy memories. It’s also about experiences yet to live.

Happiness does not reside in Things. Not so sure about Experiences, either. And definitely not in Balloon-powered Flying Pigs!
