Winter has āFumpedā down on us here in the St. John Valley in northern Maine. Well over two feet of snow already, lost power for three hours the other night, and weāve had wind chills down to -10 degrees F. The worst part is, itās still November and weāve loss over seven hours of daylight.
Here in NJ it snuck up on the Dept of Transportation 2 weeks ago, the snow āoutperformedā the forecast and caused major gridlock everywhere. There were around 1,000 accidents/incidents and many road closures.
Snuck or sneaked. Whatever, we got 10-12" of snow on Sunday/Monday in northern Illinois. I retired this past spring. At least I got to smile knowing I didnāt have to drive in it 1st thing in the morning.

Such a pleasant season. The days shorten, the leaves fall, the birds fly south, and the gentle snow goes āFUMPāā¦..
