If you can’t sleep Janis, do something else…

Why is this strip suddenly so disjointed, with no continuity of story arcs?

In this regard, Janis and I are alike. I can sleep anywhere else in the brightest lit, noisiest places you can imagine. At night, the bedroom has to be pitch black and silent. It mystifies both my wife and me.

I’m curious as to what is up with their son, Gene and his family. It’s been awhile since we have seen them featured

This is why we don’t have a TV in the bedroom. Bedrooms are for sleeping and getting ready for the day.

Well Gene & family didn’t make an appearance over Thanksgiving, maybe Christmas???

Arlo you should leave sleeping Janis’ lie.

It must not have been a chick flic.

I’m left to wonder what their dating life as well as their early marriage was like.

Nor should you.

I am like Janis. When sitting on the couch watching TV or reading, I will doze off. Sometimes for about 30 minutes. So, I will get ready for bed. No TV or book in the bedroom, ever, but getting ready for bed has awakened me enough that I have a hard time falling asleep.

“Then don’t snore so loudly while sitting there.”

Yeah right. That’s why Arlo couldn’t hear the WW2 war movie with all the bombs going off!

In the last few years of her life, my mother essentially lived in front of the TV. She stopped going to sleep in her bed and slept in her chair in front of the TV.

This is so ME. I fall asleep like this all the time. I miss a lot of movies that way.

I can’t go to sleep without the TV on. I put it on so low that husband cannot hear it (and I barely can) and it has a specific kind of show or movie – one that I am so comfortable with that it holds me attention from wandering, but does not draw me in to watch.
