If it is 20:30 hours on 31 December 2018 in Nevada, would it be — forgive me of not knowing my geography that well — (approximately) 00:00 hours on 1 January 2019 in Kiribati?

It probably is in Australia, “where tomorrow always comes.”

I love getting upearly and watching the fireworks in Australia, then throughout the day Tokyo and South Korea, then Dubai, Paris, and so on around the globe. (The West Coast is almost the last Time Zone.)

“Dear”?!? Did Earl actually call Pearl by a term of endearment???? OMG! Could this be the beginning of the mellow golden years?

Earl just had a twitch and can’t wait till midnight to act on it. At Earl’s age.. those fleeting moments get farther and farther apart.

We watch the ball drop at 9 here on the West Coast and then it’s pretty much over for the night. No waiting up for the wee hours of the morning.
