Thick is so determined to avoid any sensible action that he expects a bound man to kick open the door for him. Neither does it surprise anyone that Mordred is more observant than the detective, who doesn’t notice the doorknob is broken.

Mordred’s tied up and led by a chain Tracy proves once again that he is lame To command him to bust in the door Man, Locher just doesn’t care anymore Would it be too much to ask Where you can get such an expressive mask It shows happiness and sorrow, joy and pain Could anything really be more insane But in Locherland, reality doesn’t apply A situation that we soundly decry.

Boy, Dick Tracy the great super detective, can not bust the door by himself. He needs his prisoner to do it for him.

We wasted a day of the strip on Friday with Sam and Liz, re-hashing the same old comments. The worst storm ever.

Id like to know what in the World Mordred thinks is so funny. He should let Dick in on the joke. Surely it isnt these continued threats on his life because that joke is old and tired.

YW. I had the same plans about going to bed earlier, but I still stay up most nights so I can come to GoComics and read the comments… they’re part of the enjoyment I get out of DT.

Vista, thanks for the link. There’s some comics there I haven’t seen for years, seems our local papers drop the good stuff and keep the drek. Not one of the Chicago papers have a link to the comics on their websites either— bad mistake as far as I’m concerned. I’ve bookmarked the link.

This arc ain’t worth missing any sleep over. That’s for sure! I might stay up to read WW and BB, but that’s all! They put a gate in the fence that the sheep hop over with an auto turnstile and counter.

And we thought the thousand dollar giveaway story was bad. Are we seeing snow, rain or sleet? I can’t figure it out. If it’s snow it’s not accumulating.

Tracy has totally lost it. He’s mistaken Dr. Mordred for Juggernaut.

Seems Mordred is listening in on conversations at the police station (even though all lines of communication are down and even cell phones are labeled “dead”). He seems to have heard Horn Hair say Tracy’s life is at stake (being out in the rain).

Or could both have them have the same stoopid idea? Could two people both be that stoopid? And neither one of them be Tracy?

Who’s going to open the door? Igor, or Riff-Raff?

The week after that, Thick and Mordred finally rent that room.

Week three, Norman shows them a whole new way to stuff it.

Will it turn out that Mordred planned all along to have Thick bring him here? At one point he had a thought-balloon about how he had hoped Thick would get this assignment. If the first intersection was blocked by his associates, maybe the plan was to herd Thick into this area. Locher may have accidentally done something that resembles an actual plotted-out story … Why is everyone looking funny at me? Oooooh, does that needle have the same sedative they gave Mordred? HA HA HEE HEE!

“HA Ha, Hee Hee, strange things are happening” …Red Buttons circa 1953 or 54. I guess old Red must have had some insight into Dick Tracy’s future.

The Chester Gould Dick Tracy Museum launched its first quarterly content update last week since introducing the Members HQ in October. They added three new biographies to the previously launched Villains Gallery and added 1940s examples of the Tracy strip–dailies and Sundays–to the previously launched Anniversary Exhibition Gallery, as well. They also launched a Fan Letters Gallery and Doodles and Drawings Gallery both of which feature never-before-published material this round.

To top it all off there’s a special sneak-preview video trailer for the upcoming feature-length documentary on Gould entitled, Chester Gould–An American Original. From the description they provided the documentary is scheduled to air on Chicago PBS-affiliate, WTTW-11, in October to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Dick Tracy comic strip. The trailer itself is 17 minutes long and features commentary from the film by Max Allan Collins, Dr. Garyn G. Roberts, Dick Locher, Jean O’Connell and Mal Ballairs–a MUST SEE for any Tracy or Gould fan!

Tracy is just reacting automatically like a cop with too many years on the force. It’s a Pavlovian reflex to a closed door: “Bust it in!”

Rightwingmoron, that’s the same way Frank Norris killed one of the characters in “The Octopus,” having him fall into a ship’s hold as wheat was poured into it. The book is over a century old so Locher may be familiar with it.
