Not sure about fur, but âhairâ seems to be one of those topics that bring out the worst in Wikipedia authors. About a million lines, and extravagantly sourced.
English: The worldâs most fouled-up language, since itâs basically a mongrel, created from lots of other sources. Greek, Latin, French, Spanish, and darn near everything else, all stirred together!
Ex: the WIND blows, but you WIND up a clock. You can watch a rapidly descending bird when the DOVE DOVE downward. Also, why do COMB and POEM rhyme, but COMB and TOMB donât?
Well, I have had a little âhair of the dogâ and swept up dog hair, but when I brush it I call him a furry friend. Horses are pretty much all about hair. I think the mane and tail sort of take them out of the fur category Odd that.
Some dogs have hair and some have fur. Dogs with double coats have fur and dogs with a single coat have hair. Huskies, Shepherds, Mountain Dogs etc have fur. Poodles, Malteseâs, Yorkshire Terriers etc have hair. Been a groomer for 39 yrs, big differences in coat types.
The Santa Fe NEW MEXICAN is one of the chickenshit newspapers who dropped Wiley â they carried the Sunday strip â and was 1 of only 3 reasons we ever get the paper. Decision was made by Editor Phill Casaus. 2 to go!

Yep, the rules of English are about the weirdest out there. Does Petey ruffle his hair when chasing a hare?

Of course thereâs a difference between hair and fur. One has three letters, the other has four.

Itâs dog hair on the couch but fur when still attached to the dog.

I believe that âfurâ is a type of hair that grows to a certain length and then stops. So, our body âhairâ is really body âfurâ.

An American and an Englishman were riding in an automobile when a bug went splat on the âŠ.
⊠âwindshieldâ, said the American.
âYou meant windscreen, didnât you?â
âNo, itâs a windshield. We should know. We Americans invented the automobile.â
âQuite right, old chap, but who invented the language?â
