I wouldn’t call an investment a sickle cell cure “wise.” “Optimistic.” “Noble.” “Bold.” Those fit. An investment where seeing a return is slim possibility at best (even with a breakthrough)? “Wise” is not the word one should use.

The car can always be fixed, within reason. From what she is shown to be doing, that is purely mechanical, and an engine swap or transmission replacement is not unheard of… the only cars that have to head to the scrap pile are those that have rusted out beyond reasonable repair.

I feel sorry for him when he looks at newer cars. Like mattresses, a big change. People come in that haven’t looked in 20 years and are blown away by the change.
