I was right. Ox was next. (By the looks of Ox’s observation, it really sounds like Luann’s date is going sour thanks to her friends’ eavesdropping… expect Jack.)

The dropped napkin is the signal for HELP!!

I want to drop a napkin too so someone can jump start this cartoon.

Maybe Ox will make a more intelligent observation while replacing Luann’s dropped napkin!

“Help me now!” signals Luann. Of course, is the problem Doug or is the problem the loud and obnoxious Fuse employees?

It may only be her hair, but the female brings brightness to an otherwise darkly colored and dull setting.

Luann you don’t need friends like these.

Ok, I thought Tiff was going to flirt and distract Jack. She flirted, and it’s the long way around, but now she’s distracting him…I don’t think he heard Ox and he definitely didn’t see the napkin.

Based on panel 1, the Fuse staff think hilarity is ensuing.

Okay, so TJ did not fire Tiffany…yet. He’s laughing with her. He flips and flops. Anyway, it seems Tiffany is into Doug but Luann, not so much considering she just dropped the napkin. Too bad Jack isn’t paying attention.

Oh no … Luann wants help but Jack is distracted by the crowd!!!! This can be the beginning of a tragedy!

Looks like all the reconnaissance and rescue vehicles are sitting in the middle of the desert with flat tires leaving Luann on her own, even after signalling. Reminds me of the ill – fated 8 helicopter mission to Iran in 1980 to rescue hostages – several “haboobs” (not the boobs sitting around the table here, but shifting air pressure that sometimes forced especially fine desert sand straight up thousands of feet, where it hung like a vertical cloud for hours that could and did pose a problem for aircraft). Simple fine sand ended that mission.

Ah. so Tiff is up to her old tricks again…. (i.e. being a foil to Luann by distracting Jack)… Only this time, she may not know it or be doing it willingly. I hope somebody gets the “sign” right and comes to rescue her…. Hopefully Ox, without his knowing it!

What started out as a humorous situation of deliberate or accidental screw ups by friends has devolved into tedious and stale repetition. If Greg meant for this to be a tension building exercise for the eventual confrontation of Luann and “pals,” it’s not working well.

The only regular employees missing are Pru and Les. Can they be too far afield?

It appears the lummox missed her signal. This can’t bode well.

Luann’s signaling “help me now”, and they’re all believing Tiffany’s lies. She’s going to be so mad at Jack.

I’d love to hear the question where the response is “only when I do squats”. I mean, I came up with a couple, but I highly doubt they’re what Greg had in mind.

Don’t they all have work to do? Dang! They are distracting Jack from doing his sworn job to help Luann. Ugh. I am so bugged by this… ;p And yet, it makes for good writing and suspense. Love this strip! :)
