A person fell off a Lake Tahoe waterfall taking a selfie. Deaths while climbing Everest… a veritable traffic jam. Humans just don’t respect the wild places anymore. Treat nature like it’s the MOA playground.
My sweetheart loved looking out at the wonderful natural sites we visited over the years. And I loved taking photos of her in profile with a look combined of sheer wonder and a child-like smile on her face as she took in the sweep of Grand Canyon or the falls of Yosemite. They are scattered throughout our albums. Somehow modern pics of great teeth and hair with the natural world in the faint background just doesn’t seem to be the kind of thing I would collect. I guess it’s just the old saw about ‘different strokes for different folks.’

Make sure you stand as close to the edge as possible so you can get a Darwin award.

After this picture we can take a shot of our Big Mac at lunch and put both pics on our blog for the world to enjoy.
