The blackout is very au courant given the blackout in New York a couple of days ago. So maybe we can fantasy assume that blackout extended to the big pink house.
I’m beginning to think there must be a “Cat Lovers Live Here” sign on the Big Pink House. Or is this just “word of whisker” information passed (pawed?) down by cats over the years.
If I could ask the Orb for some good vibes and headbonks, they would be much appreciated. Spent the morning at an emergency vet visit for my Hemingway. After blood work and x-rays, it looks like he has a blockage. Surgery is a financial impossibility so we are trying to help it pass with fluids, laxatives and antibiotics (because his white blood cell count was up). I am a big ball of nerves (and tears) so could definitely use some good vibes if anyone has some to spare.
Was just leafing thru the AARP Bulletin, familiar to all us seniors. In an article on saving money there is a reference to locating assistance with pet expenses. Go to HumaneSociety.org. Tap the magnifying glass icon for Search. Type in ‘affording your pet’ and you will find links to many services. The first result is “Are you having trouble affording your pet?” It takes you to a list of National Organizations and a little further down is a search by state grid.
So I had to come here right away to pass the word that there is more possible help out there than I had known.
Lupin can enjoy the lightning because he can’t hear the thunder. However, if the lightning strike is close by, he probably can feel the concussion from the blast.
Someone asked earlier (either yesterday or today, but I can’t find it) if they make thunder shirts for cats. The answer is yes, they do make them in very small sizes, appropriate for both cats and toy breeds of dogs. We bought one for Akiro in hopes that it would help him with his storm anxiety … and it did work, after a fashion. He spent the next hour attempting to extricate himself from it, and was entirely distracted from the thunder. I’ll never understand how he managed to get out of that thing, but he did. I’m sure others have had better success, but our cat is always a special case.

Figures Lupin would not be intimidated by lightening. We know that Elvis is with the People and losing it, but I wonder where Pucky is?

I must say, I’m with Lupin when it comes to lightening – I love it. You’ll find me outside on my porch with my camera during most thunderstorms!

There is definitely a sign somewhere that says “Home for wayward female cats. Just go to the window.” Elvis cannot resist girls. Boys yes, girls no.
