Pam, it’s good that you are in space, on Earth we are surrounded by them.

On the other hand, a lesson my father taught me was that even the village idiot knows something I don’t and that I must be willing to learn even from idiots. (No unkind comments, please.)

Several years ago there was a so-so comedy movie, “Idiotocracy”. Sadly, yesteryear’s satire is next week’s documentary. Look at all the damn fool “theories” that the gullible increasingly believe in: the earth is flat; the moon landing was faked; tax cuts for the rich create more jobs; climate change is a Chinese hoax; the Russians did us a favor; “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” is REAL except it’s terrestrial aliens that threaten to replace us; the laughable “stable genius” myth; “1984” wasn’t a warning, it’s a comforting roadmap towards being “great again”… These are precipitous times.

We were so poor the village idiot, the town drunk and the local bully were all the same woman.
