Baba is going to scare those leaves right back onto the trees! Tommy is wearing his exercise clothes. And there’s Beatrix! Has she been taking leaping lessons from Lupin?
OT: my fellow Orbsters! I woke up this Sunday morning to the most wonderful sight! Breaking Cat News is now in Honolulu’s Star Advertiser newspaper! Georgia, I hope you see this comment; your amazing talent is now seen in Hawaii!
Morning all … two-for-one call for support from the Orb this morning …
1. #teamandrea update. Because our justice system moves swiftly, the driver who hit her the last week of June has his first court appearance today, I believe on the criminal charges relating to the accident itself.
2. I have a facet injection for my back this morning. I’m not looking forward to it, and if you Google it, you’ll see why. I’m not especially enamored of the idea of needles being stuck into my spine while I’m fully conscious to experience it.
O.T. significant other—Thank you all for the many prayers and encouraging thoughts! We are waiting for pathology report, but the surgery was successful, the surgeon was very pleased and said he thought maybe those growths were not cancerous after all, perhaps just rogue thyroid remnants. Wouldn’t that be so great? And s.o. came through with flying colors, doesn’t even need tylenol and back to normal activities except no lifting heavier than a gallon of milk. It was all a pretty calm experience except when I was using the hotel hair dryer and it shorted out in a very loud and spectacular fashion—haven’t seen so many blue sparks flying since the fourth of July! But once again, thank you Orbsters—you are the greatest support system ever! ♥️
Happy Autumnal/Vernal Equinox, everyone. My grandson’s visit went very well. His daughter was overjoyed to see him, and he and his mother were able to carry out a civil conversation. He went home last night because his gf kept texting and calling, saying she was lonely.
The dragonflies are teasing Petey again this fall. He hunches down at the screen door to watch the world go by and the dragonflies come down to him, nose to nose, to check him out. Petey, of course, tries to catch them, but, alas, they get away.
Just a quick update: had the injection … considered going to Andrea’s court hearing, but I’m feeling okay so far and will be going to go back to work shortly, where I can sit in my chair with the requisite ice pack on my back. Besides, there’s nothing good on television.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the passing of Zerker, the first of my female cats to be recognized as my “felid wife.” I’ve reached the point where, most of the time, I can follow Dr. Seuss’ advice and “smile because it happened,” but I still occasionally “cry because it’s over.”
I’ve known Smokey and the boys to watch leaves, usually in a stalking stance. And when she was younger Smokey would harden her tail and club the window for leaves, birds, insects, strange cats (with enough force that we worried she would shatter the glass). But I’ve never known the three of them to try attacking falling leaves through the window.
I’m with Baba. Not a fan of fall, and certainly not winter.
Don’t know if mentioned this previously or not, but I went to see my urologist last week and she removed everything she put in me (stitches and staples) as a result of my kidney stone surgery. It’s going to take awhile to heal, but I’m working on it.
Just noticed over on Georgia’s facebook at BCN. If you scroll down, you come to her creating a picture of Goldie peering around a trashcan. I hope this means we’ll see this soon!

Ooh! A new one! =D
I think my favorite… feed? would be of Beatrix, though Baba’s "GIT! " is pretty great, too. =3

Aaah! What a wonderful new twist on Puck saving us all from the Leaves! Go, team!
Love, love, love Burt’s commentary – and I’m sure Elvis knows nothing about it, which just makes it funnier.

Yea!! Beatrix is back. But, where I’d Goldie? Thought she was coming in September – seven days left.

Burt, taking credit wherever he can. And, through the diamond window…

Tommy, Bea, and possible Puck are just trying to play with the leaves. Baba is the only one truly doing battle.

Unrelated note, is anyone else finding that they now have to log in every time, even after clicking on the “keep me logged in” box?

Georgia posted a video of her painting a bit of an upcoming strip:

She also mention on Facebook that she might do live streaming on Twitch of her painting again if she can get it set up.
She also posted a picture of 3 of the 4 cats:

Lead by, Pucky The Brave, the cats charged into invading leaves! They all fought bravely but, the leaves fell upon them…and fell…and fell…and fell…

Perhaps not the best place for this, but: RIP Grandpa Mason. Wherever you find yourself, may there be kittens for you to love and teach.
