1-DT: YIKES! I practiced pretending to hold the bullet proof cape the Chief is going to order for so long my arm won’t move.
2-Stupid arm.
3-Ahhhhh. Finally. Damn. Now I got a crick in my neck. Can’t move it.
LADY: Hello sir. First time to the city? The buildings are bigger than you even imagined I’m sure.
DT: I live here lady. I’m…I’m just wondering why there’s so much traffic near a building that’s going to be imploded any minute. Yeah. That’s it. Hold on! That’s actually a good question! (I’d better quietly move to safety so the crazed crowd doesn’t block my escape route).
LADY: RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THIS MAN SAYS THE BUILDING’S COMING DOWN!
Gee, it’s still October, why is everyone freezing? Is Dicko working in Alaska now? Frisky must be an icicle by now, devoid of any circulation in her legs.
The last time one of the mag-lev individual “cop” vehicles were seen was in the “Blackhearts” story arc where Mr. Bribery escapes Dick Tracy by using one that he had apparently stolen awhile back…
Later on, he orders one of his flunkies to get rid of it and it is discovered to be in a creek bed located on B.O. Plenty’s land after it had backed up water into his house… It had police markings and B.O. just told the man who found it to get rid of it…
I remember those taps on the TI’s shoes. Hadn’t thought of them for years. I took basic at Lackland AFB in January and February 1969.
October – Nov ’74. They liked me so much I was held over another week. The second group I wound up with was so much a better fit that I genuinely felt that if I was in battle with these men I would “be there” for a buddy in distress and the other crap you get in tense situations. In the original Flight there was a fella who had a Polaroid camera and would take shots, to sell, you could keep or send to the folks back home. I may have to scan some in… Do you still have your “Lackland laser” ? I wonder if they use the longer lasting battery life, LED bulb now ?
What, “maybe even on the roof”?! Good thinking, Tracy. Now, how about doing something instead of just casually speculating? Maybe get into the ex-Chandler and start making your way up, using your wrist doohickey as a guide; or order up a police helicopter/eye-in-the-sky to check out the roof. You do recall that the signal you are receiving is an emergency distress signal? Treat it as such, not just as an academic exercise!

Good morning™, guys!
Dick is now realizing that the signal from high up might be coming from the roof. It seems that Frisk is not visible to the many passersby.
The sign seems to say “Future home of Donbaldi T[owers].”

I would think that the worst thing for anything that strives to be an adventure story, be it a movie, TV show or comic strip is to be predictable.
The last time DT completely blindsided me was with the death of Stiletta.
That was ages ago.

Is that Liz (in panel 3) or just a pretty bystander?

Tracy better get up there!!! Can’t leave Frisk hanging!!!

It’s Batman. His Cape is stuck to the gargoyle sculpture on the roof and he can’t free himself.

Panel 4:
Frisk: YEAAAAAA-SPAT!
Tracy: Yup, judging from the impact damage, she must’ve been up on the roof…

I’m not sure if this has been shared or not, but I’m sharing it now. It concerns the writer of the strip, Mike Curtis:
