Never watched a single episode, but enjoyed the movie with my wife who’s seen all the episodes. Why? Because as Arlo seems to know, that’s what loving husbands do!
I’m a definite Downton Abbey fan… have watched the entire season… and the movie, at least a half dozen times in the past six months. I got the entire series plus the movie on DVD for Christmas last year and look forward to wearing them out! Super happy that they’re going to be filming a second movie this summer (Covid permitting)… I’ve missed the family… upstairs and down as well. And yes, you need to watch the series before watching the movie… it’s about so much more than just the royal visit!

Yeah, I was debating with myself about seeing the movie without seeing the show. Still no answer.

I couldn’t get interested in the first episode of the series. All talk, no action.

Go see the movie! You can always binge watch the TV show later to catch up on what you missed.

Yes, you can. In fact, you can “not see the movie” and move on :D

Downton Abbey? Just a rework of Peyton Place.

Or skip the whole thing knowing full well it’s a soap opera.

I can see why they’d want to keep that a secret.

Whoa, Arlo.!! Dont say it. Keep your mouth shut and watch the silly show, for lasting peace (piece).

At which point, you will be ahead of me.

Well, since I only rarely watch TV (I did watch most of GoT but only because I had read the books first) I guess I’ll not see the movie.
Ummm, what movie are we talking about?
