Actually, there may be a kind of enlightenment to be had here. It’s just not very inspiring.

Sounds like what my brother told me about climbing (walking up) Mount Monadnock.

Ah, now THERE’s a life lesson: Wisdom is free, but you gotta pay for everything else…

Reminds me of Barr Camp; a glorious oasis halfway up the Barr Trail to Pikes Peak.

I wonder how the guru gets restocked. Or where he get the power for the refrigerated case.

Unbeknownst to Monty, there’s an elevator about 50’ away that goes straight to the loading docks under the mountain.

I hiked to the top of Mt. Fuji in 1972. Pretty much like this from the bottom up.

When I visited Niagra Falls (Canada side), I somewhat looked forward to “merchant’s row”… several city blocks of small shops. That is, until I found out that (amazingly) 99% of the shops all sold exactly the same thing. I seriously could not believe it; most boring shopping ever. I didn’t buy anything except one item… and that was from a shop that was independently owned and took pride in stocking items that no other shop along the row sold. I seriously have never seen a lamer marketing concept, ever. Imagine going to a shopping mall and every shop there is identical to all the others. That’s Niagra Falls.

Love this, Jim; sometimes the wordless speaks loudest…. By the same token, I’ve climbed lots, and lots of mountains and never once encountered that stuff at the top. But - for most people — I dunno, give them something to buy. They want to “own”. Maybe that’s why wild untamed areas are so appealing to me. (I’ll buy my snacks hats in town, thanks). This ranks up there with the hilarious “New Age Retreat” one you did a while back.. Rock on, dude! <3
