Itā€™s easier to add layers than shed them!

That is what I have dealt with for 40+ years. Hubby is a freakinā€™ radiator and I swear he has sucked all the heat for 3 meters around and left me ice cubes for blood. Brrrr

I have the same thing at my houseā€¦since my Dad is in his 70ā€™s, no matter how warm it is at night, he has to have the heater on, while Iā€™m in shorts and donā€™t have to worry about sleeping with any blankets onā€¦

I didnā€™t think hot flashes were a male menopause thing.

My husband is a living electric blanket, and I get a cuddle in addition to the warmth. Nothing better. :)

This is exactly whatā€™s been going on at my house for years. And as the ā€˜hotā€™ one, Iā€™ll tell you itā€™s hard to stay comfortable with a wife who keeps raising the thermostat. Iā€™m in t-shirt & shorts all winter.

We all wear layers and we keep it at 21Āŗ C (about 70Āŗ F). As mentioned above, itā€™s easier to add or subtract layers.

I like 69 degrees. I ran around in shorts and a t-shirt while my poor husband was dressed in long pants, t-shirt, sweater, and an electric lap afghan (smaller than a twin-sized electric blanket) that covered his shoulders and arms. He didnā€™t know how to change the thermostat and I paid the electric bill, so I won. But in my defense, I get sick (migraine headaches) if I get overheated. He did not get sick if he got too cold.

I donā€™t understand how a hot flash can make my upper half feel like itā€™s on fire, but my toes are still ice cubes.

Our house is, in the winter, 80 + degrees. Hubby comfortable in all his clothing-me too hot in skivies and t-shirt.

Her mistake was making him Vickieā€™s Habanero & Ghost Pepper Chili recipe for dinner.

Heā€™ll still be warm this time next week.

Can anyone help me? Iā€™m looking for a Rose Is Rose comic Strip from long ago. It was a Sunday strip and in it Pasquale urges his mother to not think about Cherry Strudel. He is still at the stage where he is talking baby talk. Iā€™d love to see this one again. If anyone can direct me to it I appreciate it. Thanks!

You can shed them all and it still could be uncomfortably hot.

I was always hot for about 55 years. I mean no winter jacket above the 40Fs and not closed until the 20FsThen at similar time I lost weight, went through changes and started medication for a low thyroid. Now I am freezing all the time. I always thought if one was cold, just add layers. Well I found the hard way that in the 80Fs one cannot wear a sweatshirt no matter how cold one feels or one will get sick.

So I live with being cold all the time. Husband has to tell me what to wear for the temperature it is. There is a rule if I feel ā€œnot coldā€ then it is in the 90Fs and I have to put on the AC until I feel cold. Sleep in old tee shirts and jeans often with winter nightgown over same and 3 winter blankets. I like being hot all the time better.

Tonight we had a board meeting of our reenactment unit at our 1600s house HQ. It has a modern furnace. When we got there other members were in the house trying to figure out why it was so cold. I showed them the thermostat behind a door and it was blank! We had the board meeting without heat (at least it went quick). Finally figured out to check the batteries (which I had said right away) and someone had a flashlight with matching batteries so we got it working again and left. Colder than it was in the 1700s in the house as we could not light a fire in the fireplace as it shut down since the furnace was added.
