It’s so cold with nobody to hold me / You’re so wrong for leaving when you told me / You would never leave me by myself / Out in the middle of nowhere / Now I’m lost / Trying to make it on my own / I thought I could never do this, / But now I’m walking by myself / Out in the middle of nowhere …
Pretty much nailed the problem with the American church- mired in politics rather than looking for ways to help those around them, actually loving their neighbors.
Had a man once bring a trimmer into the shop to get worked on. When he came to pick it up and I told him the bill he just said “And God will bless you.” Picked up the trimmer and headed to the door. I yelled at him “You still have to pay the bill!” He just looked at me dumb founded. He said again “And God will bless you.” and turned to the door. I said “If you go out that door with the trimmer without paying I am calling the police.” He looked so confused. He laid the trimmer down and walked out. Some one else came later and paid the bill. He really though that stupid saying was going to cover his bill.
“If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled’, without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” James 2:15-16
Well, I guess I’m really beating this dead horse even more, but I’m still going to observe that as useless as “Prayers” are to the suffering, “Thoughts” are even less useful.
I did the same for a co-worker stuck on Chicago I-Roads during a major blizzard. I just hoped her I-Pass wasn’t tracking her. Eventually she just ran out of gas idling.
you know this comic really pissed me off at first, and I’m glad I didn’t have a chance to respond until now. But the world mocks Christians for thoughts and prayers because indeed too many of us only offer thoughts and prayers. The reality is we Christians are supposed to be the first responders. We should be so busy that we should simply reply, we didn’t have time for thoughts and prayers we were too busy responding to what God told us to do in the first place.

One would think Goat would know better than to call Rat in a situation like this.
