What else can you do but walk?

Not sure if I should count it as a good thing or a bad thing, but for me life has not really changed all that much since ’72. Eat, sleep, go to work. Change of locations, change of who issues the paycheck, but not much else has really changed. And for the past 30 years, as of Sunday, I have worked alone so even that has not changed with this situation.

Replacements…imperfect pods.

Lots of people in the neighborhood are learning that we have insane dogs. If they weren’t small enough to pick up, it would be a serious problem.

I always thought, during the apocalypse, there would be more zombies. Then one afternoon, as I watched dozens of people walk past my window, in the Walking Dead series they called them “walkers”.

Not to nitpick, well yes to nitpick. Even though they are on sidewalks they should still face traffic.

Bringing us all closer together by keeping us away from each other. Ironic, huh?

Where did all these people come from?

We’re learning to project our voices through masks and plex and at least six feet of distance. No more secret conversations these days.

My neighborhood is full of new walkers. We almost need timed starts.

I hope tomorrow they wear their masks.

It’s been one year since the Notre Dame fire. Seems like such a long time ago. Work has stopped for now, but promised money has been collected.

There are some genuinely nice people in my neighborhood that I never even waved at before…

Before, when didn’t have to, you stayed at home. Now you have to, you go for walks.

some of the walkers just don’t seem to get the concept of social distancing or they feel that its infringing on their rights. I have had to get rude and tell a few to back off.

Where are their masks?

I just give a wave in the distance. Not worth the small talk AT ALL.

i am too at the Metropark where my dog and i walk everyday. we can walk there as long as we self-distance. so far, so good.

A lot of forums have people saying how they so look forward to things getting back to normal soon. We will adjust but for another 18-24 months until the vaccine is proven it will be an alien world. For example, video trials and lower court sessions, wearing masks when in enclosed commercial spaces and in close proximity to others, reluctance to enter medical facilities necessitating video exams and diagnosis, video funerals, disposable menus, Sanitizing and more sanitizer, and other ways we have not thought about yet.

Who would have thought that there will be live sporting events with no fans, college admissions without ACT or SAT scores, on line learning at all levels, and an economy that some are predicting will be worse than the 1930’s?

Show us the way Arlo and Janis! Show us the path to walk!

How will the younger hormone crazed crowd go into the hunting grounds to target the next or final conquest?

I’ve been retired since 2001. Our children are all gone (except the 22-yr-old) so we’re all alone much of the time. Lockdown doesn’t mean anything to us – we love it!…

Nothing left but walking… It’s all part of the plot…

As if there was an up side to this mess.

walking is grand until some driveby shootings happen.

I am seeing more people on my hiking trails now than I have in all the years I’ve been using them. Not crowding or unsafe or any of that, just lots more people. Usually on a 5-6 mile hike I’d see 1 to maybe 6 other people, either couples walking or bikers/runners. Some days I’d not see another person. Now I see 20-30 people, though still only 1 or 2 at a time.
