My hands are so clean now, I feel it’s alright to let the rest go a bit.

Janis (aka JJ), as I refilled the feeders yesterday and then went to the sink I was thinking the exact same thing. Wait a minute! Is JJ monitoring what I am doing through my TV or refrigerator?

Personally I just pretend that I am auditioning for the role of Lady Macbeth by performing her “out Damn spot” speech.

Remember the movie “1984”? Big Brother is watching you? Well he is.

I’ll be sitting here typing at my nicely clean desk on my nicely cleaned keyboard with my nicely cleaned mouse and think, I need to go wash my hands. This isn’t a habit I’m going to break easily. Meanwhile, my husband is rather hurt that I clean my workstation every time he uses my, supposedly faster, computer.

I don’t think I wash any more than before, maybe less because of “stay at home.” There are the usual reasons around the house, and when using door handles and such in public it is always necessary to wash up afterward because of colds, flu, hepatitis A…. When I worked out of an office building I needed lotion on my hands a few times a day to deal with all the washing.

I keep two bottles of liquid soap at my sink, one is an antiseptic soap and one is an aloe vera (gentle on the hands) soap. It’s nice to be able to use the aloe vera one when I am just washing my hands from normal yard or house dirt. Never used to have two bottles.

Proper hand hygiene is something that should practices year round. It should be part of the elementary level curriculum.

Arlo: This is indeed grim – as in the original Grimm’s Fairy Tales.
