Ok, I may have missed the boat here, but for the past several weeks, Steenz has radically changed the format of his characters in his strip. Is he having an understudy drawing his strips or has he changed his style of drawings by himself? At any rate, I’m having a hard time identifying all of the characters in his strip.
A big thumbs-up for the visual ingenuity today’s strip: the “camera view” (including shading all the colors towards green and gray) and the overlapping dialogue balloons, with just enough showing that you can see that Addy has anticipated Heart’s wording exactly. And maybe yet another clue that Heart was up to something unusual is that she had that makeup mirror out, not in a bathroom or bedroom, but in the kitchen! That fact isn’t in your face, but it’s there, just a detail or two in each panel. Nice touch.

Doesn’t take a genius to know about that, Heart.

I’m mostly okay with the new art and direction, but… for God’s sake! PLEASE fix the depiction of Heart’s Mom!

I admit I’m still not used to Steenz’s drawing style, but she at least seems to have a good read on the characters.

I always suspected there was something like the Mom Update out there. It explains everything.

done with the strip – gave it a try – do not like the changes and writing

About permanent marker being not that permanent. It is true. You just write over it with a washable marker and wipe off…

It seems this Heart takes her flats off a lot more than the old one. The outrageous costumes still are nowhere to be seen, though.

I think Heart is finally old enough for pierced ears now. What do you guys think?

Please bring back the old format.

So true about mom having a daily update installed in her brain about what her kids might be up to that day…
