There was a day when Moby begged George to feed him; we only saw one bit of Skittles go into his bowl. If that didn’t kill him, he likely starved. (sigh)
Flushing dead goldfish must have originated in apartment buildings in cities. We had an area on the edge of the property where we buried deceased pets. The goldfish had a matchbox coffin, as I recall.
I dislike jokes about goldfish being short-lived and disposable pets. We should, first, respect the lives of the animals we’ve chosen to make part of our homes. And a goldfish, given decent care (particularly about keeping the water clean), will live for decades. I understand the joke being made; I dislike the premises that must be accepted for the punch line to work.
Moby was only taking up a little bit of space. now he joins all the other goldfish that have passed on which is sad especially during this time when death is all our country knows right now with this virus. it would have been nice if he could have defied the odds and lived longer than most.

Back over at Luann, there’s a couple characters we’d like written out of the strip, too…

“Here one day … written out of the strip the next.”
Well, as long as they don’t do it the way Francesco Marciuliano would, using 2,500 words of dialogue, things should be fine.

Poor fishie, RIP! Maybe the bowl was too small for a fish that big—not enough oxygen.

Too many characters? I count four regulars and maybe four who still show up on occasion.
