WHO is in Left Field which is causing discord with the politicians. Our politicians have tabled finding WHY until TOMORROW when they can hold committee hearings about WHAT anyone knows BECAUSE no one talks TODAY.
This reminds me of Pastis’ 7th Timmy Failure book. He literally spends the entire book setting up an incredibly complex “who’s on first” routine. It was awesome.
let’s blame WHO for the cheeto playing golf and playing down the situation saying it was just a seasonal flu while other countries had thousands of deaths a day. But it was in USA they decided to screw up, despite arriving later; then of course the virus was made in China..
A classic. For some reason, the folks who wrote my sixth grade gammar textbook put it in there without making it a part of the lesson plan (at least it wasn’t mentioned in my textbook to be part but it might have been mentioned as such in the teacher’s book). Liked to just flip to that page and read the routine, usually at the wrong time. And yet that was the year I remember first making the honor roll.
A couple of years ago I was teaching an adult education class in Microsoft Word, and I was explaining the use of tables. One exercise used a baseball roster (names, numbers, positions) as an example of data you could put into a table. I decided to have some fun and used the names from “Who’s on First?” for the lesson. No one in the class knew what I was talking about. So near the end of the class, with about 15 minutes to go, I brought up the routine on Youtube and played it for them. They loved it!

It was a clause in their radio show contract that Abbott & Costello had to perform the “Who’s on First?” routine at least once each season!

Abbott and Costello did it better, Cartoon-Boy, though (I admit) not so concisely. Brevity may be the heart of wit….
