There was an old strip like this in the 2000s where Odie’s tongue is stuck on everything in the town and Garfield asks Jon for a 100-mile rope.

I wondered how long it would be before social distancing was a thing on “Garfield”…

I love social distancing — when people actually do it. I always want strangers to stay away from me, preferably more than six feet.

You’re inside Garfield’s house, in Garfield’s comic world. The mouse “tells” you that he’ll tell Jon that you’re here, and you hear footsteps coming from the kitchen. You don’t want Jon to freak out and cause a disturbance in the house. But you accept the mouse’s plan. “Fine, but please calm him down,” you whisper. The mouse smiles and gives a thumbs up. And sure enough, it’s Jon, in the kitchen. The mouse runs to him. Jon looks down at the mouse and says, “What are you doing here? Go to Garfield if you want to communicate with him.” The mouse runs in the kitchen, while Jon is coming from the kitchen. Uh oh. The mouse didn’t tell him. Looks like you’re gonna tell him yourself and face the music. And the next thing you know, Jon sees you. “YAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!” he screams. You yelp. “Gah! Who are you?!” he shouts. “What are you doing here?” You pant for a moment, and then you collect yourself. “I was just checking your daily strip when I got a mail from Paws Inc., stating that since I was an experienced Garfield reader, that I would experience this world, and that’s when they made the power to make me end up here!” Jon suddenly calms down. “Oh. Well…” He turns to see the mouse running back to him from the kitchen, followed by a familiar pale orange foot, which turns to a leg, then suddenly reveals a familiar face. A feline, with its large eyelids, the yellow on its upper lip of its mouth, and its black striped back and tail (maybe its ears?). Continuing on the reply comment.
