When you get older, you can tell people it’s packed away in a box from the last time you moved.

I emboss with a pencil ground into the paper.

We have really descended, haven’t we!?! From the “geniuses” of yesteryear to the current “smarts”. Wonder what is next.

When I was a kid, we tried embossing by drawing on the template with white glue, letting it get really dry, then pressing the slightly damp paper over that. Which of course softened the glue, so you had to be quick.

And a rusty screwdriver at that.

Calvin has a lot in common with a certain coyote. He must get his cards from Acme.

Well, we know he’s not a stable genius…

Does it have a picture of Calvin’s trumpet on it? As in blowing your own…

With the size of Calvin’s noggin, I’m not surprised.

Calvin is definitely a card. I don’t know about him being a genius though.

I heard of some guys once who needed to fake some embossed diplomas and the used the bottom of a coke bottle. They were fired from their job of course, eventually, but admired for their creativity. After all. they “made mission” for months.

Absolutely, Calvin is a genius. Did you see the poem he wrote for yesterday’s strip? I’m telling you, watch out for this kid, he’s bound for greatness. If Hobbes manages to keep the self-destructive tendencies under control, of course. Hobbes has his work cut out for him.

I think that at 6 years old, with all his adventures, there is no doubt that Calvin is a high genius level child. His imagination is always working, and pursuing space flight or ancient Earth studies. He is bored with very day school and the assignments that he is ahead of. What Calvin needs now, and quickly, is the correct direction that would keep and feed his interest so as to be a benefit to human kind.

I remember making some sort of card for myself when I was younger, but I don’t remember what it was for…

My first wife was a genius. I am only “near genius”, which means I was smart enough not to argue with her when she was right. :)
