It might have been better to leave a long note that wasted his time. For the money you’re due, I’ll leave you a clue. Roses are new and violets are blue. The money you’re due is not in the flue.
One more week of this story arc to go. As I’ve mentioned, Hobbes seems to be just a stuffed toy for a while but it ends with a suggestion that he is aware of what happens when he isn’t with Calvin and knows things that Calvin can’t know.
Of course she kidnapped Hobbs. I think I remember this one from when it was originally printed. I think Hobbs is going to enjoy his time with Suzie and not want to come back.
Well stories for children are a reflection of society as a whole. At least they have gotten gentler. Before, children were taught cannibalism (Hansel and Gretel cooked in the oven) and murder (Snow White poisoned by an apple), and anti marriage (Snow White living with 7 unwed men.) Now today, children are taught only extortion and kidnapping.
I just started “The Last Kingdom” series and that lengthy religious thread reminded me that the pagan Danes (Vikings) played by the same rules as the Christian Saxons; just different managers.
Will Calvin escalate? Will he hold his ground until his adversary relinquishes? Will Calvin ask for forgiveness and cease hostilities? Will there be a meeting in the middle of the bridge with Tom Hanks observing the exchange?
Will Hobbes make any thoughts from either side come to a halt with that burning question:
Don’t you think that I’m going to have a say in all of this?
