What surprises me is that âHobbesâ(a stuffed animal) is better educated than âCalvinâ a real live boy(OK in this cartoon strip)not real life ! ! ! !
Interestingly, the Plague killed off enough Feudal Lords and Peerage (speculation their immune systems werenât as hardy as their serfs.) that it allowed the âMiddle Classâ to form.
The lower classes reproduced more quickly than the aristocrats, especially as living conditions improved. The printing press enabled breaking the hereditary and theocratic monopoly on education. The growth of cities, and the roads between, encouraged a merchant class who had no need for aristocrats. Once it was known that aristocrats were just people with no demonstrable âGod-givenâ superiority, the system did become âfutileâ.
Note to Calvin: Contrary to evidence from highly-educated people who are paid to speak to the public in various capacities, using the wrong word for something does NOT clarify ANYthing!!!!

We have been living in a âfutileâ system for years. Though lately it has seemed way more feud all. Blood feud, actually.

I didnât learn about feudalism in till long after I was six. Iâm impressed Calvin is even in a position to do so.
