The original colors from 1991 are vastly superior to the 2020 colors, IMO. For one thing, the jackets in the first two panels are actually red and blue. Check it out:
I never wanted to wear my mother’s clothes, not only because I was a t-shirts and jeans kinda girl, but because my mom dressed like she’d never quite made it out of the ’70s.
So funny. My mother was never, EVER into clothes. And she was smaller than me. She used to take MY cast-offs when I outgrew them. I DID, however, borrow her jewelry.
At that age, I had no interest in clothes. It wasn’t until I was dating that I cared at all about what I was wearing, and really only because of my older sister’s insistence. She was aghast at her kid sister’s tom-boy tendencies. :D
Oh no, Elizabeth is back to sucking her thumb in the first panel! John’s device did not work. At lease Elizabeth no longer has a Canadian accent like she did yesterday after it was installed.
There was a time growing up that my Dad, my kid brother, and I were all the same size. My mother used to joke that, “The first up was the best dressed”!
See how Elly has her shoulder purse strap, buttoned onto the shoulder with the epilates? If you once wore a coat like that, did you ever use the epilate to hold your purse?
Our girls seem to borrow only the Mrs’ hats. Bad enough with twins who want either matching or contrasting outfits. More than once they would trade clothes when getting dressed after PE. Confused the heck out of teachers if they had the same class but one before and one after PE. I thought we would be able to save a bit of money on clothes, but it turned out just the opposite.
When my daughter that age was then not interested in wearing my clothes. Once thought daughter I cannot remember grade school or middle school, kids could dress out odd, she chose my clothes and did her hair, she had a blast, and she did win first prize.

Evidently, ‘Lizzie’ has gotten use to talking with her ‘appliance’ that ‘John’ fitted her with two days ago ! ! ! !

Guys don’t share clothes like women do. Luckily.

Elly just spent some serious money on herself today. I’m surprised.

Of course Lizzie likes the green sweater, she already has a pink one.

Colors fade on your computer screen. Every time someone looks at a comic, a little bit of the color leaches out. (Don’t mind me, I’m pixelated).

How can a blouse “go with” a sweater? Unless the sweater is a cardigan (it isn’t) it would cover up the blouse.
