I loved her in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Easily one of my top 3 Bond girls, along with Carole Bouquet and Maryam d’Abo. I totally bought it that James Bond couldn’t just bed her, but fall head over heels in love with her. It helped too that she was a way better actor than George Lazenby.
I thought the best episodes of The Avengers had Emma Peel. Cathy Gale (Honor Blackman) and Tara King (Linda Thorson) were o.k., but Emma Peel was by far the best. Last tv show I saw Diana Rigg in was Dr. Who – The Crimson Horror.
Don’t forget Diana Rigg’s role in “The Great Muppet Caper”. Also she had an American sitcom in the early 1970’s called “Diana”, which I recall wasn’t particularly good, but I watched it to see her!
I’ve been hoping they would bring back “The Pretender” to wrap things up and have Diana Rigg play Katherine Parker MS Parker’s mother because of the uncanny resemblance.
I was away from my computer last Friday and didn’t see this. But I have to respond to it. Dame Diana’s programs got me through life, sometimes when I badly needed entertaining. I was never able to see her on stage, but I’ve seen everything there is to see her on in film, VHS, DVD, and now, streaming, including the recently discovered “The Detectionists,” which her daughter appears in and Dame Diana herself shows up in an episode. We’ll miss you, Dame Diana, but thank you for making life a little more enjoyable for many of us.

When? I guess being work oriented to an extreme has its drawbacks.

Those form-fitting outfits were almost more than an adolescent boy could bear. (Thanks, guys, for that tribute.)

Now, I’m very sad too. I have been so in love with her since forever. I still can picture her doing A Mid-Summer’s Night Dream.

They’re not losing heroes; they are losing the people who pretended to be their fictional heroes.

Wow, Rey grew up fast. It seems like just last year she was in diapers and not talking.

Yes. Her daughter is just as good an actress and just as beautiful. Just watched a repeat of an episode of The Bletchley Circle last night.

I was surprised to hear that The Avengers was only on two seasons. She is still imprinted in my memory.

Yeah, she wasn’t shy, embarrassed or ashamed to be a woman, but she seemed to always have her dignity with her. She didn’t seem to forget or leave it.
