Normally I binge-watch news, but this is the first I’d heard about RBG. This will give T-Rump a chance to put on the Supreme Court another enemy of a woman’s right to abortion.
Four years ago, putting in a new member of the Court before an election was unthinkable. Now the GOP isn’t even going to wait for the funeral to start. And none of their followers will take any notice
Regret for the passing of this progressive and gifted woman, regret for the opportunity for the right to appoint another Christian ayatollah to bring us back to the 19th century.
What accomplishments can 45 point as evidence that he deserves another four years? The border wall has had almost no new construction during. Obama/Biden created more jobs in their first term than Trump did. The stock market increase came at the cost of increasing our debt and deficit, and the stimulus effect from the 2017 tax cut is already done. His slow response to the pandemic resulted in the needless deaths of thousands of Americans. That’s before we take into account that his administration is the most corrupt in US history.
I love when people comment here. But I honestly just posted this comic as a tribute to someone I admire.
I wasn’t expecting—but I suppose I should’ve—that political opinions (especially about abortion) would become the main subject of comments.
If people want to debate that or anything else—fine. But I would like to see more positive comments about a woman who had an amazing career (both before and during her time on the Supreme Court.) Remove the abortion issue, and you still have a woman who fought for decades against incredible resistance for women’s rights, civil rights and human rights.
We’re not all going to agree about everything. But a life honestly and brilliantly dedicated to justice (even if it’s not 100 percent your version of justice), deserves respect.

Out of curiosity, how many SCOTUS justices have actually died “on the bench”, as it were?

There’s a lot more at stake than a woman’s right to an abortion. Fascism is on our doorstep.

Mr. Lustig, I am sorry for my part in turning your wonderful tribute into a political shouting match, but this is the world we live in.

I was floored when I saw the news. A tiny little woman who could out roar the biggest lion….with her words.

Never understood why we can’t just compromise on abortion. If you don’t want to have one, then don’t. Problem solved.

BTW, can someone please point to the “last wish” clause in the Constitution? I seem to have missed it.
