I am 71 years old. If you are not wearing a mask, you are trying to kill me. I will extend the same courtesy to you as I do people who point a gun at me.
My wife and I were on vacation in a condo last week. The sign outside the elevator on every floor (I presume) said mask was required and you could only board with people with whom you were staying.
We had to tell one group as they tried to board. “Get out of here. You can’t get on.” On another occasion people got on and my wife and I got off saying, “We want to stay safe. We’re getting off. You’re not wearing a mask. You can take our elevator. We’ll wait for the next one.” They didn’t even say “Thank you.”
As we walked along the beach, we cut one walk short because there was a group of people displaying a Trump flag. We automatically assumed they were infected with Covid-19.
I have no tolerance for non-mask wearers and call them out on it. I sometimes get a response. “Oh you’re one of those people.” I respond, “Yes I am. I have respect for other people.”
I live in a Covid red zone in Brooklyn. While walking home from the supermarket the other day, I was able to tell people’s religion by whether or not they were wearing a mask.
All true comments above, but I’d point out that the guy in the drawing is both outside AND over 6’ away. Maybe he’s got his mask in his pocket for when health guidelines actually call for them.
Not everyone who wears a mask is a jerk. However, the person out jogging by himself in the sunshine wearing a mask is possibly the same poor soul who needlessly stripped the shelves of bottled water and toilet paper when he panicked back in March.
I’m all in favor of mask wearing, but sometimes it gets a little silly. I see people alone in their cars wearing masks, for example. If I’m like the man in the cartoon — out for a walk, outside, not near anyone — I have a mask in my pocket, but it’s pointless to wear it.
If you do or do not want to abide by the mask rulings, that is your problem. It is MY choice to wear one. I CARE about others as much as I care about myself. So far, I am free of any thing other than a bit of cabin fever. If you choose to live under the defiancey flag, at least volunteer at any local organization and help out, even if means hauling their garbage away! Realize this; we are all in this together and we will all get out together if we behave like decent people, caring people.
yeah lets all stay home and wash our hand all day, wear a mask that is useless , and watch the virus spread anyway . that makes sense .people have been doing that for months now and apparently it’s not helping.

A jerk is the nicest thing you could say about them. Ditto 11/3!

I dont wear a mask on my early morning walks, that shouldn’t make me a jerk because I stay well away from other people
I take my walks early to avoid people and stayed well away from everyone even before covid, that MAY mark me as a jerk in the eyes of some people

In this situation, consideration for one’s self actually includes consideration for others. Is that a bad thing?

A Christmas tree? Really? Isn’t it a bit early for that?

That should be "NOT " wearing a mask.

Yep, anyone wearing a mask is a jerk. And anyone shaming others for not wearing one is a bully.

It’s amazing how I am now disgusted by the sight of someone’s nose sticking out of their mask. I find it obscene. It’s worse than plumber’s crack.

The United States of America is proving how dumb we are.
Now every nation or entity who does not like us knows how to take us out. Just gives us an even more deadly virus and we’ll just kill ourselves.
I love America for so many things, but things are getting quite ridiculous. It is not about your freedom. It is not about your rights —
It is not about YOU!
