Add a couple of squares of sugar and a level teaspoon of pectin and you’ll have an simply adoorable plumb jamb to hang with.

…[ said in my best Humphrey Bogart]…

    …they didn’t hang the door…

    …so much as it was a lynching…

    …no trial and no error…

    …nothing hinged on the evidence…

…because they had ‘em under lock and key…

    …it wasn’t so much a door…

    …as it was a jar…

…because there is a threshold of how much any of us can take…

    …but don’t knock it if you don’t try it…

…but he got his bell rung…

…for looking at those nice knockers…

…but to be on the level…

    …i think he was framed…

Hang the square plumber? His plumbing skills weren’t THAT bad or were they? And not everybody can be cool and not “square.”

I like the doorknob. People always make a fuss over the door and forget all about the doorknob. It is somebody, too!

But beware hiring a contractor who will hang a door by pounding 16-penny nails through the trim, half of them going into empty air because the opening wasn’t framed properly. If Karma has its way, said contractor will end up in jail for home repair fraud.¹

    ¹Karma had its way. :D

    hang the poor door?

what transgression could the door have done to deserve this?

I support an end to capital punishment—-especially for doors!

What Plods with … says: pre-framed is where it’s at, to which I might add pre-plumbed and pre-wired …! 3 areas of home repair not for the dyslexic lame with OCD … but I three-peat myself …! (just give me a hammer)

Cardea or Carda was the ancient Roman goddess of the hinge (Latin cardo, cardinis), Roman doors being hung on pivot hinges.

She is very important, the whole universe turns on a hinge.

Vi is quite amused at my tales of life in Froglandia. She is also amused that I had presumed she was distributed over several consensus nodes. I’m sure Jolly old Bob is laughing at my experience, and is quite aware of every moment of it in all the possible nodes of awareness that are currently intruding on my memory space. I knew that I didn’t know what I was doing. But I didn’t know the extent to which I did not know what I was doing. Now that I think back on it, Vi must have known this was going to happen, and Jolly Old Bob must have known that it had happened in this particular consensus of probabilities. Now that I’ve accidentally stepped into a puddle and gotten a soaker, I can better appreciate how it must be to exist throughout all of the possible reality nodes and be soaked through to the bone. The chilling horror of all the things that CAN go wrong and MUST in some version of reality makes the idea of a Christmas Spirit more than pretty obvious. You try to concentrate your awareness on the good and bring the bad along as well as it is able. Or maybe like a huge building with a lot of empty space and a few areas that are kept warm and habitable, where people live. Charged with being the ubiquitous awareness in it all, you would encourage people to embrace the light and warmth and avoid the chaos and darkness. Not because it would eliminate the chaos and darkness, but because any awareness activating the universe would best be served by travelling the brighter ways, and the universe better served by them doing so.

I have found that to be untrue.

The noose keeps slipping off. I finally had to shoot the door, as if it were a horse. You know they shoot horses, don’t they?

Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs! (Walt Whitman; also, epigraph to Allen Ginsberg’s Howl.)
