The same kind of monster that hides raisins in chocolate.

Yeah. Everyone knows that you need to start with the raisins and add the pasta to them.

    … Gulliver had many travels…

…but his little know involvement with the raisin/antipasto league was an amazing adventure in itself…

…it started with him almost getting smushed in the huge tunnel of love…

…and almost having to use a saddle riding the giant’s magic twanger…

…eventually, he realized the league for monsters they were…

    …they even used walnuts!…

    …so he joined the anti-antipasto league…

….I heard the giants moved him to permanent third base…

There is a delicious Calabrian recipe called “Torta alla Vermicelli.” It’s basically a sweet spaghetti pie, and it uses golden raisins. Squisito!

It was bad enough when they started being added to oatmeal cookies. Cookies should have chocolate, not raisins! Raisins are for bran cereal.

They put raisins in the tortellini at the “camps” where they send you to rehab for your pasta addiction (similar to methadone for heroin addicts).

Re: Rejection. I know I’m coming to this a little late, Ms. T, but 6turtle9 and Brass Orchid both made exceptionally good points. I just wanted to add my voice to theirs. Don’t give up after one rejection. If I know anything about your ideas and creativity, they deserve an audience. There’s a way to get it. (Google hosts your blog, so that’s one place to explore.) Believe in it. The rejection you got was actually quite encouraging, as rejections go.

    Fair question!

At the risk of repeating myself, I like raisins. (I know I made this point in a comment on some GoComics strip in my regular daily rotation; I’m just not sure which, though I kinda sorta suspect it may have been Cul de Sac.)

I also like pasta very much (which explains the REDACTED nickname one of my uncles gave me when I was a mere tadpole).

But I would never mix the two in any recipe allowed in my kitchen!

It’s true, my fellow Froglandians. There are monsters among us!

I heard it from the grapevine … raisins are Nature’s candy …!

But sometimes their usage can be unNATUREal … or unusual at best … (to each their own)

The one who did it the most was the Godfather of the Gocomics people who was eliminated. Sam Basset might figure out who that mysterious person is by next week.

I knew a guy once who put peanut butter on his hamburger, and pickles on his ice cream. That was bad enough, but when he insisted on putting pickles in the mac-n-cheese, I knew our friendship was doomed.
