We have a bird feeder to attract potential chew toys for our dog.

Apparently birds don’t taste the heat of cayenne pepper but squirrels do.

I feed walnuts to my squirrels at the base of our huge tree in the yard. Some of them know me very well and rush up to me to get the first morsel. One rattles the screen door to let me know he’s ready for breakfast. The crows in the neighborhood have caught on and often leave a sentry to watch for me. On those occasions, I sit on the porch and shoo them away. It’s getting cold now and I’ve thought about making a “scarecrow” out of some old clothes and a broom ;-)

My squirrels eat all the birdseed on the ground! Caught one trying to knock the feeder off the hook….didn’t make it…lol
