Poor Duffy. All his arrogant brashness has evaporated and he’s on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
Now Wally gets to explain to the Topsider what that seemingly nonsensical outburst means. Which was pretty much accurate, so Wally will re-word it in more reasonable-sounding phrases in order to be believed. Maybe.
Oddly enough, that is the most accurate thing that has probably ever been spoken in the comic. Congrats, Duffy, you are now qualified to write extra-dimensional horror science fiction featuring eldritch horrors.
Wally’s tail is back to normal, so it’s probably safe to say that he’s had time to calm down while explaining what happened to Dr Amesworth.
Poor Duffy appears to have some serious post-traumatic stress, though. I hope there’s someone on this Topsider team who can help him without removing his brain.
I know that SOUNDS like an insane rant but…yeah pretty much that, can I get a glass of water or something? Running away from hellmouths is thirsty work…
The good news – Wally provides the voice of apparent reason to the topsider after Duffy’s outburst. The bad news – the topsiders believe Wally is “Cracked Cat” so may be less inclined to believe him.
Man, these four panels are now one of my favorites. The style, the story told and the comedic timing is perfectly displayed in just four squares. Aaron, you rock! :D

Looks like Duffy is the real cracked cat.

Holly was one of the main characters in the comic; does that mean that these Topsiders want her, too?

Guess they should be thankful they weren’t in the Candyland reality.

The thousand yard stare…..Tuffy gonna need some therapy. Maybe get him a comfort item….like a toothbrush.
Baslim the Beggar Premium Member about 4 years ago
He forgot to mention that a toothbrush hand smashed Amesworh’s tracker, but otherwise not a bad summary.
I wonder if there is any chance Alan saved the newspaper from the lighthouse. That would at least explain Amesworth going to pieces.

I know it sounds crazy but, you’re talking to a cat wearing clothes and you’re wearing a protective suit so you don’t mutate, so…

Duffy could become the founding prophet of a new religion.

Duff has never been in the real world. Remember- 4 fingers- he’s a product of this one. There’s no comparison for him to have :(

And if you buy that one I’ll tell you what’s happening in the United States…

Poor Duffy — remember, he was the “bully” with a heart of gold. He was actually one of the few kids who was sort of nice to Chic, and respected him.

Poor Duffy, can someone pop his eyes back in please.
Baslim the Beggar Premium Member about 4 years ago
Somehow, I don’t think that Chic is going to get that charm back — and I hope he never needs it.
