OMG My husband does this.. he ransacks the fridge when dinner is ten minutes from being done… Or better yet doesn’t eat as much at dinner Because he’s “on a diet” but then spends the next hour grazing on snacks.

Yep. And half the time I end up packing dinner into leftover trays for “tomorrow”

Dinner is a meal between snacks.

I wanted to chip in with a comment, but that just reminded me… :D

Well, you have to make sure the ingredients are good and then you have to monitor the meal in progress to make sure it is going OK.

Also you have to be willing to experiment, “Would chocolate chip cookies go good with this?”

I always thought that WAS part of making dinner. . .or lunch. . .or supper. . .or elevenses. . .de rigueur, as it were. . .
