So is Spud or Sterling the little dipper that Amelia gesturing to? And I think I spy a certain tall and some what shy Bigfoot lurking amongst the trees.
The art today… and fairly often other days too… gives me a little frisson-thrill of nostalgia… about the Coconino County / Memorial Valley landscapes of George Herriman’s Krazy Kat.
When I grew up in Montreal in the 40’s we could pick out the Big Dipper on starry nights. Now, with light pollution, we’re lucky if we can see a few bright stars and the moon.
Deep in the woods above the owl, I believe there is a rope between two trees, with triangular flags or cloths hanging from it. It sure can’t be a used car lot in the forest – maybe Bigfoot’s laundry?
If Amelia gets any surlier and more unpleasant to be around, I wouldn’t blame her mother and father one bit if they want to have her euthanized when she hits her teen years.
Sadly light pollution has made seeing any stars but the brightest impossible. I miss seeing all the constellations and the starry dust of the Milky Way.

Perfect way to welcome the new year. Midnight stargazing stroll through the local Sasquatch-infested woods. #Welcome2021

The only constellation most people know – and not even it’s given name! (No worries, constellations are about as useful as horoscopes!)

The best thing about Will Henry’s “Walace the Brave” is to go back to the beginning, or anywhere back, and feel good about being alive! (:-)
