My octogenarian parents got their vaccine last week, so I’m slightly optimistic.

My Arizona relatives are planning a reunion this summer in Utah… I hope it goes well too.

Now you only have to be pessimistic about the rattlesnakes, killer bees and tarantulas.

They opened it up to 65 year-olds and then ran out of vaccine as if they are playing a weird game with 65 year-olds.

I keep hoping for (several of) my favorite things to do to come back into possibility. The advent of the UK variant, though, is going to make it a lot harder to wait. And it’s looking like April before I’ll be able to get vaccinated. Or May. Or June. If I live that long.

Okay everyone, let me talk you down; it’s still going to be a long time before we can all go back to “normal”.

When I was young I wanted to be older. As I got older I wanted to be younger. I must be entering my second childhood because they’re starting to vaccinate people who are 75+ and I want to be older.

The lockdowns will last only till the next free election, when the people can elect someone who will end them. Oh, wait…

I’m in phase 1b, but that’s because I’m “essential services”, so I could drive down to Tucson any time. Not that I have any reason to.

After Tucson they can take a side trip to Uranus gas. (ha ha). Next to that is a range where they can shoot a real assault rifle (not so ha ha).

Did they just look at the bright side? Call the media.

And if you do visit Tucson, see the Dessert Museum/Zoo/Aquarium. It was the first one dedicated to dessert life.

Feels good to have positive thoughts! If only it would come true, though!

I’ve purchased a trip to Australia and New Zealand this year and am very much looking forward to it. I expect to get vaccinated this summer.

It’s all propaganda. The “experts” are still focused on wearing a mask and isolation for the next 10 years.

Tucson visits tend to be wintertime [snowbirds], spring would tend to be like many areas summers, and summers see regular 100+ degree highs. [But it’s a dry heat]

I live with guarded hope.. by the time it is available to me, most of the side effects will have become somewhat predictable and will have antidotes.

I don’t think it’s dangerous for Pig, but Rat might be allergic.

Well, now they say even WITH a vaccine, you can’t travel.

The light at the end of this tunnel gets a tiny bit brighter daily. The downside is the cockroaches will linger on in the meantime. (Rat being an optimist is refreshing.)

Pastis needs to visit Arizona, so’s he can get a sense of Yuma.

In Indiana it’s being done very well! Over 80 was by appointment the last two weeks, my Dad got his, over 70 is the next two weeks and so on. They have 157 sites across the state. All healthcare people got it first followed by nursing homes

I traveled to AZ in November and Florida in December. Took my temperature daily, used masks and Neti pot daily. Restaurants used precautions as did airlines. Meanwhile my family members at home were less cautious and got COVID. All recovered and back to work. I’m 75 and will take responsibility for myself, care for others and live my life, what’s left. The good Lord has blessed me this far.

They obviously never been to Tucson…

I love optimistic thoughts nowadays.

Apologies all older guys… I’m one of them at 76… but shouldn’t younger people still being productive get earlier vaccines than we do? I’m having the best time of my life, but the species needs people to pay for my Social Security checks. Not that I won’t get in line as soon as I can!

I have had one, a family member gets the second one tomorrow! It’s happening, it just had a slow start and then everyone decided to try to schedule at the same time. All the naysayers have become a bit more quiet about refusing the shots. The shots can’t give us herd immunity if enough people don’t get them. If we want more freedom, safely, we need to be immunized.

The new regime will fix that.

Remain calm and it (optimism) will go away. Optimism cannot last when faced with today’s Reality….
