This morning I was complaining about that day old doughnut I had for breakfast (Yes, yes oh what a beautiful mourning!), till the truth hit me like a hammer and I muttered: “A Bagel?!?”
I treasure these old reprints. I never knew Patty found out Snoopy was a dog. Although I read Peanuts every day at home, some business trips lasted months.
Marcie has always called Patty Sir, so can you see what Schultz had done here. Marcie calling the pot black. Saying that, this is the first time I’ve seen Peppermint Patti finally realizing Snoopy is a dog. I mean she slept in in his doghouse, thinking it was a cottage (in the rain). Will Patti have a relapse and go back to thinking Snoopy is a big nose kid?
Sorry to see Patty disillusioned, but I hope it doesn’t change her opinion of his skills as a ballplayer. (As I recall, after her initial encounter with “Chuck’s” team — she briefly took over the pitching duties, before leaving in disgust — she told Snoopy that he was the only decent player they had.)

It’s not often that a Peanuts strip has permanent consequences, so Patty has to try extra hard to remember it.

Psychological problems? Sigmund Freud would have a field day with those two.

Snoopy is so many things – ace fighter pilot, Joe Cool, elite hockey player, suave dancer etc etc. I can see her confusion
