At work, Friday After Thanksgiving is always very slow. One woman, before she retired, would make us latkes every Thanksgiving Friday. It was wonderful.
Back in the day at my school we used to have a blocked schedule, class was almost two hours. So when we did the colonial era in my 8th grade social studies class I would always let the kids cook a Thanksgiving meal. We used to have some real feasts.
In a county in a state where 80% of the students in school depend on the school for their breakfast and lunch, perhaps the only meals they will eat in a day, Wallace is a hero.
Then it’s NOT Pancake Monday? Just how did Wallace get all the ingredients into the classroom, not to mention the griddle pan, without her noticing? I agree, have some pancakes with your students and enjoy!
My son had to give a demonstrative speech. We made 30 snickerdoodles and packed up ingredients, a hand mixer, and a portable convection oven. He passed out the snickerdoodles as an example of the results, mixed a fresh batch, and put them in the convection oven. Everyone got to enjoy the smell of fresh baking and a fresh hot cookie after class.

Wallace appears to operate outside time—moving him up to the front of the class might only get him closer to an outlet!

I dont know. If it were my classroom I’d realize everyone will learn better on a full tummy. They look delicious by the way.

The background of this comic is fascinating. Monochromatic (except for the stars), almost scribbly compared to the characters in the forefront.

Looks like the seagull has its eyes on Amelia’s pancakes.

Maybe the teacher wants him up front, so she is closer to the food.

Great A, little a,
This is pancake day;
Toss the ball high,
Throw the ball low,
Those that come after
May sing heigh-ho!
