Be glad you didn’t have a sister like I did. When I first started wearing a bra they were somewhat padded. My sister would take them out of the dryer, put them on her head and walk around singing “Mouse-ka-boobs! Mouse-ka-boobs!” Disney was big on TV when I was going through that period of my life (before they had their own channel).
I love that Elizabeth is attacking Michael. He certainly attacked her enough. (I still remember how someone posted here that my family was weird because my brothers never attacked me. Dang they were hostile. I wonder why, lol)
Of course, I’ve heard of training bras all my long life. Everyone has, no big deal. But it wasn’t until tonight, reading this comic, that I stopped to wonder: what is a training bra? Now I get it, didn’t even have to Google.
Reminds me of the time when my two boys ,probably 5 & 7, were fighting over a bungee with the metal hooks on the end, when the elder yelled LET GO, and he did-it was worth 3 stitches in the forehead.
You would not see this kind of discord with the neighbors. The Enjos would be happily singing “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”. They have known that one for generations.
Most bras were terrible things in the late 50’s. The cups were stitched in circles, and made you look pointy. Came out a wrinkled, shrunken mess when washed. We used to pad the tips of the cups with cotton, or you’d have a squashed, wadded up look in your clothes.
THAT’S what it’s for, Mike! Ow. This reminds me of an episode of Emergency! with Randolph Mantooth (as paramedic/firefighter Johnny Gage) and Kevin Tighe (as paramedic/firefighter Roy DeSoto). Don’t know if anyone remembers that show. Anyway, the guys got a call that a woman was having trouble breathing and they get to her thinking it was because she was sick but she was like “No! Not sick! Girdle! Too tight! Squeezing me!” So then they had to cut it off because she couldn’t get it off. When he was done cutting it, it flew right into Johnny’s face. Stung his eyes a little. That was hilarious. Johnny always made my heart go pitter-pat!
Years ago, our gym teacher told us to wear a training bra for protection, the same as boys had to wear the jock strap. That’s why it is called “training” because it is worn during physical training…that some girls chose to wear it all the time, it was their choice after that…
By the time my girls were that age to need this piece of clothing, it was called an athletic bra. I don’t even know if this term “training bra” is used nowadays.

Must be some stretchy kind of bra if it snaps like that. Well deserved for Mike. Hope she finds an athletic cup in his room or in the laundry someday.

It’s neither. That’s how pairs of beanies with chin straps come packaged nowadays. Just cut the connecting piece and separate.
