Big Nate and the Big Event – Part 4

Maybe we won that yesterday’s fight, but that doesn’t meant, that Nolan and Zach will let go with their strip.

“So, what should we do?”, I asked. “We can’t let them humiliate us!”

“I know!”, Teddy exclaimed. “Let’s make a comic book for the contest!”

“Okay, but about who?”, Francis asked.

I was about to say something, but the bell ringed. This time, I didn’t mind, because we had art class.

Today, Mr. Rosa told us, to sketch a place we enjoyed last summer. I was tired drawing the 4th of July fair over, and over again, so I just drawed a place, where I wanted to be – the Peanuts – themed hotel in Japan (What? A real comic fan appriecates classics!).

When we stopped sketching, we had to show our artworks. Remember that new girl, Coco? Turns out, she’s a pro, her sketches are even better, than Artur’s! And then, I came up with a pretty good idea.

BIG NATE AND HIS NEWFOUND ABILITIES: PART 2

Nate has just fallen off a ladder, but instead of falling all the way to the ground, he can see himself floating above it, like he was flying.

Nate: What the… am I flying…?

Nate tries to fly to the top of the ladder. He does it without any problem whatsoever. He is confused by this.

Nate: Wait… I literally just flew… does that mean…?

Nate jumps off the ladder and tries to float above the grass. It works again, and Nate realizes that he has the ability to fly.

Nate: Wait… I… have superpowers?

He stays there for a few seconds, still floating, until Nate decides to call for Marty.

Nate: DAD?!

Hearing Nate, Marty opens the front door, thinking that he is finished with the gutters. He sees him floating above the grass.

Marty: Yes Nate, are you finished with the- GEEZ LOUISE!

Nate: Yeah, I know! What’s happening?!

Marty: C- come inside with me. I’ll tell you everything going on with you. You won’t believe it.

Nate: Um… okay?

Nate stops floating and follows Marty into the house. They all go to Nate’s room, lock his door, and cover the windows with curtains just in case anyone is eavesdropping. They sit on Nate’s bed.

Marty: So Nate… about you… well… you have superpowers.

Nate: WHAT?!

When I was in high school, there was a young lady that was very tall and muscular. In my junior year she decided she was going to the prom with one of the seniors. She lurked in one of the stairwells and would grab the senior, ask him if he was going to take her to the prom and if he said no (they all did) she would clobber him. The guys were all afraid to use the stairs so classes on the third floor were skipped for about two weeks by them until after the prom. If she found out what girl the guy she wanted was taking, she would go beat that girl up. Had girls been allowed to play on the football team, we had a few girls that would have made us a championship team instead of a chumpionship team.
