Say, the drawings look somewhat different today. Not as refiend than the usual FoXo work. But the perspectives still look right. Maybe an assistant completed em? Last one doesn’t has FoXo’s signature too. Or maybe these are even earlier Bozo strips which was rerun in 1949? Anyways, a big thumbs up of course for FoXo’s wonderful wordless wonder BOZO!
“Keep the change” on that $10. In 1949, that was a generous tip. I haven’t taken a cab, or an Uber, in some years now, but I guarantee that’s no longer generous unless it was a really short ride.
Offering #2 today, I really admire the first panel, as much for the idea from Foxo as the art. Rather than just going for the ‘joke of the day’, it’s almost tantalizing for regular readers to wonder what adventure Bozo is fleeing from (apparently jumping a fence to slip past a cop on the beat), only to escape right into a situation at the ballgame he’s arrived at.
It’s like the cartoonist is asking the audience: What if because of space limitations we only get to see one of the many exploits of our Bozo on any given day? (Talk about la vida loca.)
Once again I would like to invite Bozo followers and also especially those who are not yet GoComics subscribers to check out my interview with GoComics, titled, “Bozo, the world’s first pantomime style comic strip” by clicking the GoComics Blog below. Also please read the July 27, 2021 https://www.dailycartoonist.com/index.php/2021/07/27/bozo-by-foxo/article . Thank you!
The baseball one is slightly obscure in odd ways. What’s the shape on the right in the background of Panel 3? Is that an exploding Fuzzy? Why is Bozo’s head twisted around with a little symbolic icon floating by it?
It’s rare to have questions like these about this strip.
1)Wash Day: A big lady and her equally large dog arrive for a bath. The dog decides Bozo gets the first bath much to Bozo’s surprise.
2) Accidental Aid: Baseball game, Bozo jumps on the fence just as a ball is heading his way the player jumps up and gets it as it bounces off poor Bozo’s head.
3) Cab Fare Extraordinaire: “Bozo Cab Co.” has a rich riders and he sees the couple is cold so he tries to warm them up with a very fast cab ride flinging them together. He gets $10.
No real remarks for the dog washing….Just Foxo humor which is about like me washing my dog. The Baseball, I understand the sitting on the fence. Most cartoonist always show the people and kids who cannot buy a ticket looking through knot holes in the fence, still the catch and head turning along with Umbrella Man flying off …. well it may have been a new take on an old series of Bozo sitting on fences during football and baseball games. The cab scene reminds me of my teen age days when my friends would drive me and the young lady I would be dating, by taking curves fast throwing the young lady or my self close together. Once was the brother of a young lady I desired so much. I treasure those moments being so close to her….ah the days of young love.

1 This is the way we wash our Boz.
2 Even Bozo is wondering what’s up with Umbrella Guy today.
3 On a streetcar, or a train,
You’d think he was born without any brain
But in a taxicab, you’d be surprised!

⓵ Big dog, bigger lady! Bozo’s taking a bath on this job.
⓶ ♬♭ Take me out to the ball game ♩♫ And then see what happens!
⓷ A disagreement, or strangers sharing a cab? All’s well that might end well.
