If that thing is running, B.O. needs to press that gas pedal and press it hard.
I thought these were tough crusty country folk. That old yesteryear truck hasn’t a chance of out running the modern cop cruisers and that’s before the “Motorola overdrive” kicks in.
Looks like Gertie dyed her flowing white hair red. You might think that the colorist would know repeating characters.
I’m not sure that there is only one colorist. Perhaps it is something like this: I once worked at a large graphics company with an entire department of artists. There was a mark-up and layout department, the graphics department, and a proofreading department. We produced ads for neighborhood shopper magazines for towns all over the country. There were 3 shifts. We had a basket on a table in the center of our room. Markup would bring in a stack of jobs and continually keep our basket full. When any of the artists ( about 10 per shift) finished a job, they would pass it to Proofreading and then take the top job out of the basket. To this company, the jobs were as interchangeable as the artists. Actors and scenic designers tend to do a lot of strange jobs between gigs.
1-FRENCHY: Those people who told me crime is a slippery slope sure were right…
2-…Hmmm. A nondescript sedan over there and a unique late 40’s pickup truck painted Strange Green. YES! That’s the one that will go unnoticed as I make my way through morning traffic!
3-FRENCHY: BEAT IT GEEZERS! I’M TAKIN’ THIS TRUCK.
PAPPY: Good luck, Broomhilda! I hope you survive.
BROOMHILDA: He means for me to get out too, Pappy!
On a cold moon lit night, B.O. and Gertie Plenty rekindle their romance in the truck like a couple of teenagers. B.O. is working his way into Gertie’s good graces after a certain movie star came on to him a few story lines ago. In the third panel, B.O. has discovered “Just For Men” formula…gets rid of gray hair. Gertie probably uses Miss Clairol…only her hair dresser knows for sure. Tiger Lily…fallen on hard times for sure….car jacking a pick up truck with a stick.
Tiger scales the tree and is out of the canal/culvert/ditch/channel, and then—-well, that was an unexpected development. B.O. and Gertie, carjacked (pickupjacked if you’re going to be picky)!

Good morning™, drivers!
“Outta th’ truck!,” he says icily. Do you think that B.O. Plenty and Gravel Gertie can handle this situation? They certainly weren’t expecting it.

Too bad they don’t have L’il Attitude with them. One look at that kid and Tiger would find another vehicle to carjack.

Oh no! He’s armed with a stick! Be careful, he might give you a splinter! Seriously, who’d be afraid of such a tiny stick?

Well, it seems that Tiger is going to be caught by the tail. He’d want too once he tangles with the likes of B.O. and Gerdy ;)

At least the guest appearances have been legacy characters from the strip. Here’s hoping Annie doesn’t show up.

Here goes another tangent I guess. Anyone remember how this Tolstoyian epic started? Thanks again Neil for repeating what we can read.

“Outta the truck!” indeed! This is the comics section. If you two want to carry on that way, take it over to the “health & lifestyles” pages.

The credibility of storyline would have been stretched if Tiger Lily were hitch hiking and Pouch had picked him up.

I’m not so sure I would want to tangle with B.O. and Gravel. They’ve got a lot more steam than meets the eye.

I guess Tiger Lilly had a “root canal” today. (Sorry, couldn’t resist).
