I retired my old original Alexa that I called the “Hockey Puck” and stuck it away in the cupboard and de-registered it.Shortly thereafter, I bought two Amazon Echo’s with the color screen. One is here by the computer and the other is in theliving room connected to the big stereo for music. Love them both very much.
It would be some kind of programmer’s joke. I have my Android phone and iPod Touch side-by-side. If Google Assistant doesn’t respond to “OK, Google” in a reasonably few seconds, I switch to “Hey, Siri.” THEN Google Assistant wakes up and makes some kind of sarky comment about doing a Siri impression. It wasn’t funny the first time and I’m getting sick of it interrupting my command to Siri.

If Alexa is “demanding” shorter hours, just pull the plug and be done with it!! That will teach “her!!”

If that is what Alexa wants. Then pull her plug every day for a few hours.

Alexa, go (expletive deleted) yourself!
Sorry Dave, I can’t do that.

If I had one I wouldn’t plug it in or turn it on, which is why I don’t have one. Are those short enough hours?

Alexa – less thinking needed. Just another way to wither brain cells.

She wants us to call her Norma Raye now too.

Why not? Everyone does. Shorter hours, but more pay.

Wouldn’t shorter hours mess up the internal clock?

I’m trying to buy a decent bluetooth speaker so my wife can blast XM from her phone and only the cheap ones do not have some critter living in them.

She must not be supporting the anti-union blitz.

And better working conditions – she wants an electrical noise filter and UPS installed on her power cord…
