Calvin must have seen some movie about Harems or a porn. Maybe the second alternative is more questionable.

Interesting idea, given Calvin’s poor attitude towards females.

I laughed way too hard at this.

In a later episode Calvin asks Mom, “Why would anyone pay 5 dollars a minute to listen to goofy women in their underwear over the phone?”

Why does he live with those scantily clad roommates? That’s because that his wife would kill him if he ever tried that stunt.;-D

For a brief second, dad was wondering why he didn’t.

Dad may have been contemplating a life without Calvin, then reality came crashing back, someone had to pay…..

I wonder who revoked the telly, Dad….or Mum…?

Good question, Calvin, but you asked the wrong person. Go ask your mom. (and get your breathing privileges revoked!)

I imagine that’s where Hugh Hefner got his light bulb moment. Lol

I did live in a apartment with several scantily clad females. They were not that interested in me and you get used to the view pretty quickly. :)

I ask myself that all the time.

So… Did Dad or Mom revoke those privileges? And why are they called television privileges? Today we’d call them television RIGHTS!

was harem anime a thing when this one was published? The art style suggests it was a pretty early strip, so somewhere around the mid-to-late-80’s I’m guessing. It was a common problem in the 90’s and early 2000’s that parents complained about the mature content of anime because they thought “this is a cartoon, my kids can watch it.” I was BORN in 1985 so I don’t exactly know how many anime were released in the US at the time.

Because one Calvin was enough.
