Another perfect match is when you come across two same-colored socks with holes.

This is definitely me. Then I can throw out only one at at time if the holes get too big!

Years ago Gold Toe made their ‘Fluffies’ crew socks in all sorts of colors. Made it easy to match pairs, and quite interesting when I didn’t. My sock drawer looked like a rainbow.

Yeah, that’s why I buy the same color socks – white – all the time, plus you can keep the one good one when the other gets a hole. You’ll get another pair in time.

My mom always bought 2 identical 6-packs of socks each at a time for my dad & my 2 bros – white ones for dad, black ones for one bro, & navy blue ones for the other bro. Made for easy sorting & a lot less wasted time trying to match them.

I had several pair of tie dye socks with similar combinations of blues, purples and greens. Easy to mix-n-match.

There used to be a man in the neighborhood who marched to a different drummer. One of his penchants was to always wear mismatched socks. One of my physics profs in college always wore bow ties, usually red ones. I don’t recall if they were the clip-on variety or the genuine article.

My dad was red green color blind. A friend pointed out that dad was wearing one red sock, and one green sock. Dad replied, “Yeah, and I’ve got another pair at home just like ’em!”

That’s the way I do it. When I worked, I owned nothing but the same kind of black socks. Now, it’s white socks, with one black pair for funerals, or when I run out of white ones.

Doesn’t matter if they are the same color or even the same color and same brand – they never seem to match any longer. When I sort my socks I have to sort by type of ribbing, then the length of the socks to match them. My socks are two different brands as the first brand discontinued the socks I was buying – if I end up with three matching pairs of socks – same ribbing (each company had different ribbing) and same length – I consider it a miracle.

Husband is even worse as he 4 or 5 different sets of socks and in no case can I pull out two of the same set of socks and have them match on the first try.
