I remember, as a kid, talking about trying to do that. Mostly we tried to see how far we could get when we jumped off the swing.

This should be an Olympic event!

Hogwash! Everybody knows that if you swing over the bar you’ll turn inside out.

I remember trying to accomplish that. Best I did was high into the arc, gravity happened and falling straight down till the chain end. Bam, and start over.

Yes, I know it’s only a comic, but according to Mythbusters, it is, according to science, impossible to do a 360 degree loop on a swing set (unless you use rocket propulsion, which would in fact kill a real person.)

You CAN do that if the swing hangs on solid bars, not ropes or chains.

Good thing he ended up on the bottom of the swing. I think the battle between that bar and his forehead would have been short and nasty for Red.

I’m old school. When I was young, July 4th was called Independence Day, the day America declared our independence from British rule and be own country instead of British colonies. I fear the meaning of the day is being lost when it’s just called the 4th of July. So, from this old lady, Happy Independence Day!

I always tried but never quite made it…..

In recent weeks, Red has learned comic physics, not the greatest of choices when he isn’t Wiley Coyote.

I was always trying to do that as a kid…..

I’m in my 70’s and this is the ONLY comic I read. I look forward to it and my day is not complete until I read this. Such a small thing but it keeps this old gal smiling. Thank you Brian Basset.

Oh the freedom of swings! I was so unathletic that swinging was my only other sport besides walking. I loved both.
