Someone who actually cares about such things would never use “they” as a singular, though, so that ruins the illusion of the joke for true word nerds. ;-)

But “supposably”, although it doesn’t mean the same thing as “supposedly”, actually is a word. Perhaps the person who is typing it knows what each one means, and uses them correctly.

Can’t help you with the font phobia, unfortunately.

I use “Comic Neue”. It’s much less silly-looking.

That’s slightly less cringeworthy than “conversated.” On Court TV, I actually heard a DA use that!

Or someone might type, “Get a hold of yourself”, when meaning, “Get ahold of yourself.”

Worry that he’s dyslexic or four years old. At 78 that’s the only people that know it’s an actual word.

It makes my fur stand up when spell check corrects “in to” to “into” because so many people think that’s correct.

Friends don’t let friends use Comic Sans. Or Algerian, either.

The neologism that gets my dander up is to use “gift” as a verb. I know we’ve been verbizing things for centuries, but people, gift is a noun, give is a perfectly good verb. Is that so difficult?

Isn’t the same word, for all intensive purposes? I mean… it’s a mute point, right?
